Born in Langsa, Nangroe Aceh Darussalam. Graduated from Fine Arts Department, Indonesian Institute of The Arts, Yogyakarta (2009). Personal narration and daily problems become frequent theme in my creative process, especially regard to the matter of identity. I formed a heavy metal band SANGKAKALA, and collaborated in experimental art & music performance project, PUNKASILA. My closeness to the youth culture and the background of my motherland with the Moslem Sharia Law and its political conflict still remain a ‘daily life’, simply be one of negotiation area in my artistic expression.

Paper are become a big intention of my works. Reconstruct the paper to be subject matter as well as narration. In the context of art market in Indonesia, works on canvas really dominate and favored by collectors. I tried to choose a medium that was political. Paper is vulnerable material, hard to maintain and difficult to collect, and thus not a good investment (according to the ‘rules’ of the art market). But I think paper is really valuable. With this medium, I want to try to give a sense that the work is not only judged by the medium. The assessment is in the working process.
